Digital Saksham

Digital Saksham aims to empower the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with the digital know-how to unlock their full potential thereby helping them contribute to the country’s success story.  

This programme has been launched by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in partnership with Mastercard Centre for Inclusive Growth . Shri Nitin Gadkari , Hon’ble Minister, Road Transport and Highways, GoI launched the programme on December, 9, 2020.

Digital Saksham aims to help MSMEs seamlessly integrate into the digital economy and access credit, expand their market reach,diversify their customer base, digitalise their financial operations, and solidify their supply chain.

The project is being implemented in three phases over a period of three years-

Building awareness

Educating more than three lakh MSME owners and entrepreneurs across India about the financial and digital tools to make them aware about and access personal finance strategies and digital financial instruments.

Training

Offering online/offline training to 75,000 entrepreneurs to equip them with skills and knowledge to improve their financial situation and ability to withstand unforeseen events.

Adoption

Further facilitating 50,000 entrepreneurs to adopt certain digital tools for market access, credit solutions, and overall business growth. They will then be encouraged to obtain skills, knowledge and access resources to grow their enterprise.

The project is been implemented in 10 states across 41 cities and across clusters. The states are Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Delhi-National Capital Region, Kerala ,Karnataka, West Bengal, Orissa.
The Roadmap
The implementation of the project is from October 2021 where a number of online and offline training programs are being scheduled in a phased-out manner for the MSMEs.

The MSMEs can register online for the training that aims to equip the organizations with digital financial literacy and help them adopt the relevant technologies to their business and grow in a global ecosystem.

The project is envisioned to create a movement that will have a long-term impact on the MSMEs in India. A large number of MSMEs are exploring their digital journey and newer ways to upgrade themselves to future technologies that would impact their Business culture. Large-scale formalization is also one of the expected outcomes of the project as MSME schemes in various areas of technology intervention take the center stage.
